Short answers about how the games work, where the numbers come from, and what the site does with information you submit.
Is this an official NBA site?
No. Facts Over Feelings is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NBA, its teams, or its media partners.
Do I need an account?
No. Games run in your browser. If you choose to join a daily leaderboard, you pick a display name. That name is public on the leaderboard. Do not use your legal name or include an email address, phone number, or home address in a display name.
How is the Daily Mystery player chosen?
The answer is selected from the same player roster used in All-Time / Career and Peak Season comparisons. Every player in that roster is eligible, including newly added players. The guess dropdown lists that full roster. Fantasy Five uses a separate, season-specific ranking list and is not the mystery pool.
Why can’t I guess a name that isn’t in the dropdown?
Mystery guesses are limited to players stored in the site database so clues and scoring stay consistent. If a legend is missing, send a correction request. Ten new eligible players are added on a regular schedule, without repeating names already in the roster.
How does GM Desk work?
Each UTC day you get one board. Every position has four players from different teams: one star and three cheaper options. Pick one player at PG, SG, SF, PF, and C. Salaries stay hidden until you lock. If the five salaries add up to $164.961M or less, your score is their combined 2025–26 PPG. Over the cap scores 0. See GM Desk explained.
What does PRA mean?
PRA is points plus rebounds plus assists, usually as a per-game total. Max PRA is the regular-season year with the highest PRA in the stored data. Peak Season is a broader editorial pick and can be a different year. See What Is PRA? and Peak vs. Max PRA.
Are the rankings “the truth”?
No. They are the output of published formulas and optional weights. Era, pace, role, injuries, teammates, and defense that never hit the box score are not fully captured. Treat a verdict as a structured argument, not a court ruling. The limits of rankings guide covers this in more detail.
Where do Fantasy Five rankings come from?
Fantasy Five uses regular-season totals and this formula:
PTS + (1.2 × REB) + (1.5 × AST) + (3 × STL) + (3 × BLK) − TOV
Position assignments follow that season’s dataset so each round has one PG, SG, SF, PF, and C. That list is hardcoded separately from the comparison roster.
Is this gambling or a paid contest?
No. There is no entry fee, no prize money, and no wagering. Leaderboards are for fun. Nothing on the site is betting advice.
What information do you collect?
Leaderboard entries store display name, result or score, game date, and submission time. The browser may store local progress so you cannot submit the same daily game twice. The contact form stores the name, email, topic, and message you type, only if you send one. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Can children use the site?
The site is a general-audience basketball statistics game and is not directed at children under 13. Do not submit personal information on behalf of a child. If you believe a child submitted personal information, use the contact form and ask for deletion.
Will there be ads?
The site is being prepared for Google AdSense after a custom domain is purchased and Google approves the account. Ads are not required to play. When ads are enabled, they may use cookies or similar identifiers as described in the Privacy Policy. Game results are not sold to advertisers as a condition of play.
How do I report a wrong stat or ask to remove a leaderboard name?
Use the contact form. For a stat error, include player, tab, season, the value shown, the value you believe is correct, and a source. For a leaderboard request, include the display name, which game, and the date. Do not send passwords or government ID numbers.
